FAQ

Which fields do you translate?

IT; machinery, automotive and plant engineering; electrical, electronics and semiconductors; chemicals, energy, environment and materials; construction; medical devices, regulatory affairs and biotech; patents, defense, aerospace and standards; and academic and business documents.

How is the translation fee calculated?

Fees are charged per page, applying a volume standard for each language and a subject rate (general, general technical, patent or specialized technical). Native-speaker review and urgent work on holidays or at night are charged at separate rates.

Can you handle large-volume or reference-only documents?

Yes. After agreeing on the intended use, we can work with MTPE, where a professional translator post-edits machine translation, and volume discounts are available.

Which languages do you support?

We support more than 100 languages. Languages not listed in our rate table are quoted separately.

Can I send confidential documents?

Yes. We can sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), and other security requirements are agreed in line with your company’s internal policies.

How is document consulting different from translation?

We first analyze the purpose and environment in which the document will be used, define terminology standards and structure, and after translation preserve or rebuild the original format so you receive a ready-to-use document.

Do you reproduce tables, drawings and warning formats as in the original?

Yes. We reproduce the original formatting and deliver in the same format as the source (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CAD drawings in DWG/DXF, etc.) as well as PDF. The required delivery format is agreed when we quote.

Which languages do I need for machinery manuals exported to the EU?

The EU Machinery Regulation requires instructions for use in the language(s) determined by the member state where the machinery is placed on the market. The required languages differ by country, so they need to be checked for each market.

Do you also review regulatory compliance?

Whether a regulation applies and whether a product complies are determined by the manufacturer (and, where applicable, a notified body). Worldone supports the translation and editing of the related documents.

If the source document is revised, does everything need to be retranslated?

No. We can identify the changes and update only the affected parts.

Do I need to send my documents before I can get advice?

No. Tell us by email at worldone@worldone.co.kr where the document will be submitted and what type of document it is, and we will guide you through the required procedure.

What is notarized translation?

It is a procedure in which the translator swears that the translation has the same content as the original and a notary public certifies it. Notarization is the work of a notary public; Worldone handles the translation and procedural guidance.

What is the difference between an apostille and embassy legalization?

If the destination country is a member of the Apostille Convention, an apostille is required; if not, embassy legalization (consular confirmation) is required. This differs by country, so we confirm it with you when you contact us.

How long does it take?

It depends on the volume and complexity of the documents and on the procedures of the destination country. Translating a simple document takes about one business day; if notarization or an apostille or embassy legalization is also required, the processing time of those authorities is added. We give you an exact schedule when you contact us.

How are my documents handled?

The documents you send are used only for the translation work. They are deleted 3 months after delivery (our correction period), or right away if you ask.

Can I order transcription only?

Yes. We turn audio and video files from meetings, interviews, lectures and more into text, and can add timecodes to the transcript if needed.

In what form can I receive subtitles?

You can receive the video with subtitles burned in, or the subtitle files on their own.

Can you make Korean subtitles for foreign-language videos?

Yes. We translate foreign-language audio and video content and produce subtitles synced to the timecodes.

When will I receive a quote?

We reply within one business day. If the volume is large or something needs to be checked, we will first let you know the schedule.

What file formats can I send?

Please send your original files as they are: PDF, Word, HWP, PowerPoint, Excel, InDesign (INDD/IDML), Illustrator (AI), CAD drawings (DWG/DXF), images, audio and video (MP3, WAV, MP4, etc.). Large files can be sent via a file-transfer link, and we will contact you separately if anything needs to be confirmed.

Should I ask about notarized translation of personal documents here?

For personal documents, emailing us at worldone@worldone.co.kr is the fastest way.
